About Us

Mal Tabb is an experienced & well qualified  outdoor practitioner. His main focus in the outdoors is guiding open canoe expeditions in our remaining wild places, he holds advanced canoe leadership qualifications & is recognised by Paddle UK as an Endorsed Guide. He has led around a hundred multi-day open canoe journeys, countless canoe adventure days & has paddled white water rivers throughout the UK. Most of Mal's guiding  is in the more remote areas of Scotland & the island of Ireland, although his paddling, trekking and climbing adventures have taken him throughout Europe & to North America.

 

Mal's secondary interest is in paddlesports coaching, he holds the Paddle UK: Canoe Coach (Advanced Open Water Award) & is working to become a Performance Coach in the same discipline. He offers bespoke canoe coaching days & is a provider / tutor for a range of Paddle UK safety and rescue, leadership & coaching awards.

 

When not paddling canoes Mal will likely be found in the mountains either at work or for leisure.

 

Marion Tabb is a small business owner, company director and outdoor practitioner with over 13 years experience. She is a rock climbing instructor, underground leader & has a keen interest in all things Bushcraft & living outdoors.

 

Mal & Marion's work is delivered through M&M Outdoor Activity Services & the outdoor social enterprise Canoes, Mountains & Caves CIC an organisation they jointly founded in 2014 and of which Marion remains an active director.

 

As well as expedition guiding & canoe coaching they provide freelance instruction services & technical / safety advice to a wide range of clients.

 

When not working in the outdoors they are Church Leaders working as part of the team at Elim Community Church, Carlisle - a thriving city centre Church.
